The Virtual Curator software is a pre-visualization toolkit used for the design of exhibitions and for making relationships between museum art objects in 3D gallery spaces. The software can be used by visitors and students to experience curatorial processes in the effort to create a personal collection. The software could be utilized by curators to envision potential exhibitions of existing collections and for planning the display of visiting collections in museum spaces. The Virtual Curator has been designed on the Panda3D game platform and will be ported to the Unity platform in the future.
Our first software prototype is being used by visitors and students at the Israel Museum Youth Wing in Jerusalem. It contains the highlights of the Israel Museum art collection.
